Crooks, Lennie, Candy, and Curley's wife all wanted to fufill their lifelong wishes. Lennie and Candy wanted to save up the rest of the money with George to buy the farm. Crooks offers to work as a farm hand and says he would wash dishes. Curley's Wife wanted to be an Actress but her parents thought if she went down the life of fame it would all end up a bust. They all shared something. A dream.

ReplyDeleteThese four characters Candy Crooks Lennie and Curleys wife all have things in common all of them are looking for something and they all simply want their dreams to come true. Lennie saw Crooks' light and wanted to find what was in there Crooks was looking for company (despite hiding his desire for it) Candy was looking for Lennie to tell him about what they are going to do with the rabbits. As for their dreams candy wants to live on the ranch with George and Lennie while Lennie wants to tend the rabbits and Crooks dreams of a life without being lonely. While Curley's wife has the most insipid but sympathetic goal of wanting to be famous.

For Lennie, his dream is to have a farm with George, and now Candy, He wants to be able to have a farm where he can tend to the rabbits and be able to live with George. He also wants to be able to have chickens, and cows, and sheep, and a puppy.
“An’ rabbits,” Lennie said eagerly. “An’ I’d take care of ‘em. Tell how I’d do that, George.” (58)
Candy’s dream is also to live on the land. He wants to join George and Lennie, and have a farm house and a farm. He asked George if he could help out and give money so they could get the farm and not live in the bunk houses anymore because they were going to get rid of him anyways.
“They’ll can me purty soon.” “Maybe if I give you guys my money, you’ll let me hoe in the garden even after I ain’t no good at it” (60)
Curley’s Wife’s dream was to be an actress. She said that she’s always lonely and that she wanted to be all her life.
“He says he was gonna put me in the movies. Says I was a natural.” (88)
Crooks, Lennie and candy, and curley's wife all had a dream that they wanted to go after. Crooks, Lennie and Candy all want to live on a nice farm. Curley's wife wanted to be an actress in a famous theatre touring company.
